Liffey Valley Opel Donates €5,000 to Make-A-Wish Ireland

Liffey Valley Opel have been proudly working with Make-A-Wish Ireland for a number of years.

In 2008 Liffey Valley Opel gave Make-A-Wish Ireland a brand new Opel Zafira to enable them to transport the 'wish children' to and from their wishes along with their families.

In July 2011 Liffey Valley Opel devised a "Cause Campaign" on their Facebook page whereby for every “Like” they received they would donate €1 to Make-A-Wish Ireland.
In just one month the car dealership increased it's Facebook page to over 5,000 new fans. "The response was fantastic, and we were delighted to have been able to support such a great and worthy charity" said Paul Tier, Dealer Principal, Liffey Valley Opel.

Also on offer was the chance to win a free iPad2 to all those who supported the campaign. A second subsequent iPad2 was offered through a quiz to fans.

The winners were Gillian Browne and Peter McGrath who are both fans of Liffey Valley Opel on Facebook. They said they were thrilled to have won.

Sharon Dagg from Make-A-Wish also said, "Make-A-Wish are delighted with the response to the Liffey Valley Opel Facebook Appeal which raised a fantastic €5,000 for the charity. We are extremely grateful to everyone who supported this innovative campaign and especially to Liffey Valley Opel for their generous continued support. The money raised will help us to continue to grant more magical wishes to children living with life threatening conditions!"

During the presentation of the cheque, Make-A-Wish also returned the Opel Zafira which they had named "Daisy" who they said was "coming home again." Also present was Wilbur the giant Make-A-Wish mascot teddy bear.
